La Tortuga Island

A pristine oasis of white sands and turquoise waters for absolute disconnection.

Descubre La Tortuga Island

La Tortuga Island is the second largest island in Venezuela. Its name originates from the vast number of sea turtles that arrive annually to nest on its secluded shores. In the 17th century, Dutch sailors and pirates used the island as a strategic hub to extract salt from its natural salt pans, leaving behind historical traces that still spark curiosity today. On a natural level, it is a unique ecological sanctuary in the southern Caribbean. Its beaches feature coral-origin sand so fine and pure that it does not retain heat, allowing you to walk barefoot at high noon without burning your feet. Its pristine waters flash a breathtaking palette of blues and turquoises that rival the world's top tropical destinations. During the open-sea boat crossing, it is common to witness pods of wild dolphins playing along the waves of the boats, turning the journey into an exciting adventure right from the start.

Testimonios

A magical and unforgettable experience I have no words to describe the feeling of walking along Cayo Herradura. The sand is so white and fine it feels like powder, and the best part is it doesn't burn your feet at all. The boat ride from Higuerote was totally worth it; we even saw dolphins swimming right next to us! Sleeping at the oceanfront campsite under a sky full of stars was unbelievable. Venezuela Voyages' service was flawless from start to finish, taking care of every logistical detail. I will definitely be back!
